True Story. A religion teacher assigned her class an essay on what makes a good Christian. One student wrote about praying nightly, say no to abortion, banning gay marriage, and donating money. The other student wrote about talking to God and allowing people to enjoy their lives, and supporting gay marriage. The day the teacher was to hand the papers back, she called up the second student and told him she would pray for him when he went to hell. The student asked why would he be going to hell, and why he got an F on his paper. The teacher told him that Catholisim is against gay marriage. The student looked at her for a minute, then said aloud, "I'm gay." The teacher kicked him out of class as if he had said fuck or worshiped Satan. A girl in the back of class who had a boyfriend and was obviously straight got up and left too.
If you would leave the classroom, repost this. It doesn't matter if you're straight, bi, or gay. It doesn't matter if you're catholic or not. Everyone is a human being and deserves happiness.
I'm not one hundred percent positive if I'd leave the room, but I'd definetely take action against it in one form or another, because it just plain wrong -- it is more or less rascism. I know a lot of people who are bi, gay, and questioning, and they're good people. The fact that others think it is a problem really bothers me; the fact that people sometimes act on it, a la Matthew Shepard, is disgusting. Even though we never actually did the play, I will never forget it and the message it sent, and how true it was.
So. Today was spent doing what I said I'd do - I read more of "Battle Royale" outside, volunteered from one to three at the library, cashed my paycheck, and read more of "BR". It is a really good book, save for really violent, and a bit disturbing.
It is still a bit tense at the Rinaldi home, but it is all good. Hopefully there won't be much more drama. Now mama-sama is all "ZOMG. ROOM. CLEAN. NOW." So apparently it 'has to be clean by the time school starts', so thus I have twenty-five days to do that in. Bleh. Ah, well. I can do it XD
&EDIT -- OMFG. "Wicked" is coming to Hartford December 7th through the 18th. !!. Anyone else want in?

Oh, and I wouldn't have been in a catholic classroom anyway :)...But yeah, it bothers the crap out of me too. And I agree, it's just like racism. People are born gay, just like they are born black or born with blue eyes..or whatever.
Although, I do believe that something went wrong in the genes. Because Humans are animals, and animals are supposed to want to reproduce, and obviously you'd come up with some problems when trying to reproduce with the same gender..) But I see nothing wrong with being gay, it's just odd from an animalistic/survival..type instincts..but whatever...
Also, I don't understand why people don't think DNA affects what gender you like. DNA dictates what qualitites (physically) in people you like, what smells that you like (like the smell of a person)..do people honestly think that the DNA would not include what gender you like, if it includes which hair color you like..
